So, it’s Saturday and I’m sitting here, high, listening to Alt J. I got to thinking, “ya know what? Alt J is a severely underrated band.”
When you actually get right down to it, their music is Genius! They cover everything from obsession to gay marriage. Not only that but almost all their songs have hidden meanings.
They like to use code in their songs.
C O double= Carbon dioxide. The stuff we exhale when we breath. This is from their song, Blood Flood. The entire song is geared towards calming down anxiety.
As a person with anxiety, I absolutely appreciate that.
In the song ,Dead Crush, the title is the clue. “You’re my D.C. oh Anna” See that they did there? Same song they include reference to a drug transaction, without actually saying it, but instead they use poetic verse.
“Now that I am clean, the matador is no more, dragged from view” Now you tell me what YOU think that means? That is from the song, Something Good.
And don’t even get me started on, In Cold Blood! That frigging song took some serious research on my part.
All I can say is once you “get“ Alt J, you can’t stop listening to them.
